Sparkflame is based out of Toronto - a rainy cool climate with a vintage heritage. I wanted the primary mark to draw from the Northwestern surroundings.
With images of the Northwest in mind, I took pencil to paper with over 50 script letters - then twice as many combinations in search of the perfect combination. Brush script is a fun way to break a few rules of traditional lettering and it helped sell the "vintage vibe".
To help ground the vintage brush script, the branding is paired with a clean sans serif and just a touch of typewriter.
The colors were drawn from the previous Sparkflame colors. I did not want to completely ditch the teal's so instead I grounded it by making the branding monochromatic. The palette attracts to both men and women through its gender neutral appeal.
Photography, graphic elements and patterns are a unique opportunity to channel a brand's essence into something that will take the identity to the next level. Through this application, you can envision how the color, type, photography and logo all come together as a cohesive brand. These images are only mockups to help you imagine the brand in context.
Paper products are a fantastic way to bring a brand to life. Whether you go old school with a matchbook set or modern with linen bound notebooks, the applications can really solidify a brand's professionalism and bring attention from a wider audience.
